This painting started out as a lay in using a new tube of a fabulous blue paint called Delft Blue. My intention was to tighten it up and make it look realistic but I began playing with texture and it went in a completely different direction! The scrapes of white became puffs of mud flying from the horse's hooves. The perspective and texture of this painting really work together to create movement. You can almost hear the horses racing down the track.
