Mane Lines
In “Mane Lines”, I used acrylic and white and brown eggshell collage to bring texture and depth to the forms of three horses standing together. Drawing inspiration from the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is mended with gold to honor the beauty in imperfection and repair. The eggshell collage became my own form of Kintsugi, its delicate fragments reinforcing the horses' forms and symbolizing resilience. The open, airy background evokes a feeling of boundless space. The horses are free to roam, yet they choose to stand together, connected by an invisible thread of shared experience. "Mane Lines" is a meditation on resilience and connection.
