18-Inch Metallic Fringe and a Hawaiian Shirt at the Finals
Bucking broncs, dirt, and the smell of leather is inspiring to folks familiar with the lifestyle. Inspiration comes from beauty, color, and a moment in time. Exploring and interpreting those moments in oils is a new passion for this artist after years of ink and color pencil where objects began to feel static. In this ever-changing, ever-moving life within a world spinning and bucking around us, paintings such as this hold deeper meaning and emotion than the visual image. Having grown up in a family where horses and farm animals were as much a part of life as breathing, exploring horsemanship in various "horse disciplines" has become a necessity as a reflection on moments from my memory.
