Backlit horse head oil painting
Originally this painting was of a rooster. The final result was not to my liking so I sanded down the board revealing and interesting play of color and texture in the paint layers. I was inspired by the surface and chose to put a horse on it. This serendipitous experiment thankfully had a happy result in the end.
